Buffalo Bills Alumni Chapter and NFLPA Awards P.A.T. Scholar/Athlete Scholarships to a pair of Buffalo Public High School Students

Buffalo, NY…July 28, 2011… Since 1997, the Buffalo Bills Alumni Chapter and NFLPA have awarded two college scholarships to honor a top female and male student-athlete in the Buffalo Public School system.

In 2011, the Buffalo Chapter Scholar/Athlete Committee had selected Nikolas Albarran, a Buffalo City Honors senior who will be attending M.I.T. in the fall to receive the $2500 scholarship. Nikolas, was also a part of the Buffalo Prep program which the Buffalo Bills Alumni Foundation made a major recipient of their 2010 community donations. Another Buffalo City Honors senior, Sarah Miller will also receive the Alumni’s $2500 scholarship. Sarah will be attending Kenyon College in Ohio in September.

“Awarding these scholarships is one of the highlights of the year for the Bills Alumni Chapter” stated Alumni President Booker Edgerson. “Sarah and Nikolas have done outstanding work throughout high school and we along with their parents and teachers are so very proud of them” added Edgerson.

The selection Committee is made up of the following individuals: Bob Dugan, Committee Chairman; Mark Brammer, Committee Member/Advisor; Denny Lynch, Publicist for the Committee; Tim Delaney, South Park High School Teacher and Coach and a 1998 P.A. T. Scholar/Athlete Award Winner; and Committee Members, John Lupke, Don Gilbert and Bob Carnavale.
